Title: Tensions in an international mission.
Evangelical Missions Quarterly,

Editor:
Pub. Data: 29, 412-418.    1993
Pub. Type: Article      7 pages
Summary: An article describing tensions that surface in multinational teams, what can be done about them, and living with the residual tensions.
Gems: A truly indispensable book for understanding missionary relationships is Florence Allshorn, by J. H. Oldham (SCM Press, 1951). The apostle Paul's mission teams faced strong tensions and one team split. Even something as innocuous as introducing a guest speaker can stir up trouble. Humor and jokes are a notorious minefield for misunderstanding. Most people are blind to their cultural prejudices, at least until they have in-depth exposure to an alien culture.
