Summary: This is an article examining adjustments that have to me made in cross-cultural marriages, including three basic questions to ask.
Gems: An important concept is to realize that cultures are not responsible for making a foreigner comfortable. It is the responsibility of the foreigner to make the culture comfortable with him or her. This is especially true with the extended family. Depending on how the couple met, the family will probably be much more traditional in its ways.
Outline: It's not such as small world after all.
"I'm loving you and loving life."
"You can't do that!"
"I love you despite the differences!"
Understanding is the key.
Three questions to ask
     1. Why am I marring this person of a different Culture?
     2. What are my expectations for this marriage?
     3. Has this person visited your passport culture and vice versa?
