Summary: This article is a summary of the results of a WEA study of 600 agencies with nearly 40,000 long-term missionaries. It reveals the agency cultures, policies and practices that promote missionary retention.
Gems: While retention has dropped over the past twenty years, it has not decreased in the subgroup of high retaining agencies. These agencies have maintained their missionaries' commitment, loyalty and vision. They are blessed with highly experienced and dedicated staff.
